Farah Haddad
Farah was selected to attend UWC in 2011. This short interview was conducted when Farah was a first year at UWC-USA.
What has your UWC experience been like, so far?
'When I was preparing myself to leave Syria I was very nervous. That feeling grew when I was on the plane on my way to UWC-USA. All of those feelings faded when I saw all the students in front of the school, they were all very excited and they welcomed me to this new place that I would call home within a few weeks. One week passed and I already felt like I had been here for a month!
I met new people and formed new friendships quickly. It got a little harder when school started but with the help of other students I managed to get more acquainted with the new educational system (and the different language). I get more attached to this campus and the students each day.
UWC is the good life! It has been very challenging being away from home, being in a new environment with people from different countries and cultures, but it is one of the best experiences a person can have!
